Brazil offers an ideal climate for grape growing due to its diverse microclimates and fertile soil, especially in Pernambuco near the Sao Francisco Valley. Here, warm temperatures and seasonal rainfall create optimal growing conditions, enabling a consistent supply of grapes all year round. The grape season in Brazil usually runs from November to April, depending on the region. We receive these delicious grapes from early November to late January.
The land-based process
When the grapes are ripe, they are harvested by hand to minimise damage. This quick and efficient harvesting process often takes only a few hours, so the grapes retain their maximum freshness. After harvesting, they are immediately taken to a processing facility, where they are carefully sorted, washed and packed for shipment. This careful approach makes our Brazilian grapes ideally suited to our customers in Retail, Gastronomy and Processing.

Kraaijeveld has a range of grapes for all three target groups. A year-round availability from different countries and different varieties, so the customer always has something. Grapes from Brazil are available in different sizes and varieties. The first varieties to come in are ARRA15 and Timpson. These grapes are available in packs of 10x500gr. Later in the season, other weights will also be available, as well as varieties.
